Why Eureka
Business means a market-place where seller and buyer come together and do a transaction! It's only when we see an all-smiling face of a buyer with a proud "Eureka!" (meaning, Got it!) glow on that we understand our work is over. Trust us, we won't get your business again if you did not leave us happy on the first occasion.
Why Indo-Irish
We do not hide from the fact that we import in large quantities from Indian sub-continent. Let's accept it that from as far back in recorded history as we can get, India had always been placed with quite a distinction as a country that produces quality. Be it the silk, the spices or even the handiworks of the master craftsmen! The proprietor is Indian-Irish, a fact that helps us immensely to source the best from Indian manufacturers. We get to the best of all Indian manufacturers, and that's how we do not have to deal with any middle-men. We go straight to the manufacturers and get to you the best of leather garments, silk scarves, stylish apparels and ever gorgeous costume jewellery. At a price that cannot be matched by any so-called importers.
If you are a manufacturer or supplier yourself we will love to hear from you too. Please contact us here.
No Child Labour
We all now know thanks to the media and press how poor some of the working conditions can be in Indian manufacturing units so we take special attention to ensure none of the units from where our items are sourced employ child labour. We have personally visited these units and spoken to the staff to make sure a fair wage structure is employed. Most of the units that we deal with are part of Government sponsored or affiliated co-operatives. In future we intend to put some of the images from our visits here on the website. We GUARANTEE that none of our items has been manufactured or made by child labour. Affiliation to Fair Trade is something we have in mind for future however at the present time the associated cost for procuring the license cannot be justified against the business revenue of Eureka Indo-Irish Traders.
Back to Community
A portion of all our profits is donated to a charity we closely work with - Purbachal Ananda Foundation - who work for destitute children and aged persons ( Registered under the a) West Bengal Societies Registration Act, 1961 Registration Number- S/1L/32097). In 2008 Eureka has made a contribution of Rs 60,000 (circa Euros 1000).
